 Door snails mating
« Thread Started on Jul 27, 2008, 8:11pm »

Hi there,

last Friday I went probably on the last excursion of this summer (it is becoming quite hot here) on my house hill, the Wilhelminenberg in Vienna's 16th district, where I was able to spot those two door snails (I would presume it is Alinda biplicata) mating. I had to use the flash, but nevertheless I think it is a pretty interesting picture:

Kind regards

Hi there,

they were on a rather muddy fallen log of I think beechwood. Many of those door snails were found climbing the trees, probably to feed on algae there.

Kind regards
Robert

Very good picture!!
I saw in north portugal a big amount of them on a wall with lots of moss and lichens.
I think that, like there, they eat this kind of food.

Best regards
