Does anyone on here have any of the immaculata that were misidentified as stuhlmanni? just wondering if anyone was trying to breed them at the moment? I have 1 left, the other 2 i had died, i notice theyre skin is much lighter than any other immaculata, and theyre shell more elongated, and much more plain than the "smithii" ones.

So no one has any of these snails now? they were sold as Achatina stuhlmanni last year, quite a few sold didnt they? it would be a shame if this form of immaculata was lost, or integrated with other immaculata/panthera which may of happened?

I still have one. The other died not too long ago. They laid eggs a couple of times, the ones that hatched didn't survive for some reason so I didn't try after that.
Never been that successful with them once they were adults, they fluctuated in weight but they do love it wetter than other snails and I seem to be keeping the remaining one happy.
It's never been near any other form of immaculata but I did keep it with some other Achatina like reticulata for a while.

I have 3 of the stuhmanni form of immaculta......have recently laid eggs a couple of times but I have sadly had no luck in hatching them.
More down to the fact I have practically zero hatch rate success than them being infertile.......any help in this area would be appreciated. It would be a shame if this form died out.
They were from Frederik orginally, as babies and have only ever been keep in with margie babies as company.

Do you remove the eggs or leave them where they are?
maybe remove them into a small tub of coir and moss, slightly bury them, and keep them warm and moist? thats what I do with my immaculata eggs and the hatch rate is usually quite good, i dont know if the eggs of this particular form would be more difficult to hatch though? i dont think they would be?

Have tried both leaving them where they are and moving them.
The ones that have hatched have been the ones that were left in the tank. I think mostly its down to temps.....too much variation. I am heating the whole room and putting the extra sensitive species ie two tones on a heat mat.
I just discoved some margie eggs yesterday......I m leaving them in the tank this time.......see what happens.
Speaking of species dying out......has anyone else on here got any of the 'panthera' from Isabella Brey a while back now?? I have only one snail left and would really love to breed some more of these they are a truly beautiful snail.
If I could get the eggs to hatch that is..........

Well to be honest looking at the pics on Christabels ?? website (hope I got that right) they look a lot like the Achatina immaculta she has got.
They have the body of the two tones.......but are like wide stumpy pantheras, much shorter in the shell than the panthera I got from eric. They are adult at a very small size too. Only about 6 cm shell length.
Not so stripy as the smithii.....some striping but more blended in with the brown.....stripes not so distinct. Have to see if I can get some pics.
Did notice one thing about your stulmannii, the ones I got from Frederik have no striping at all hardly are almost completly pale brown in colour.

I got Fredriks last three stuhlmanni, one adult (who had no stripes) and two juveniles from a batch of eggs from that adult snail, that were more striped, the adult and one of the juveniles has since died, and I have one of the juveniles (also now adult) left. Do you have any baby snails from your stuhlmanni immacs? or did the ones that hatched die?
Wide stumpy panthera would be var. immaculata i think? as all the panthera in captivity are just elongated immacs, the more ventricose ones are var. immaculata.

Ah your stulmanni (Sp) are from Frederiks too, I didnt realize that.
Never seen pics of them looking that stripey. I have so far never had any eggs hatch, although I have had a couple of batches of eggs.
Yes I belive the 'panthera' I am looking for, to go with my other one are the varient called immaculata, as you said.
I am just hoping some one will be able to point me in the right direction to pair my last one up.......although Im not sure where to ask on the board??
Doesnt really go under classifieds.....or does it??

panthera would be the variant (or form) of immaculata, immaculata are the nominate form, theyre much rarer i think, I have a few ventricose shelled immacs, so they would be var. immaculata, none that are like the one you described though, im sure ive seen them before though.
You could post it under classifieds, i dont think theres anywhere on the board where members can ask for snails now?
