The little fulicas that started hatching last week have come out to play! ;D There's many more still underground, and they haven't yet attacked the lettuce leaf, but it still counts, doesn't it? And look at this cute outlier, who climbed 4 inches up the tank edge!

Oh cute! All of my babies instantly climb to the the top of the container :L It's a bit annoying as I have to get them all down so they don't crawl into the parts of the lid that will squish them when I close it. Good luck with your babes

They are about 10 days old and super cute: Mostly spending their days in the lid of the tank:

How adorable! All my babies stay on the lid too, I wonder why that is.

They are growing: Here they are nom-nomming: In the last picture you can see some unhatched eggs for size comparison. BTW, there are many more than that, haven't counted them but I'd say around 100. ETA: I mean, there are around 100 babies, and just a few unhatched eggs!

So cute! Fulicas aren't feared as an invasive species for nothing... they have a very good hatching rate.

Aww bless 'em! Those are quite big already, for such young little ones! Do they sit with just the tips of their tentacles poking out from underneath the shell? My fuli babies, which joined the family a few weeks ago, do that.. and it's soooo cute! They look kinda grumpy sort of cute. And of course the infantile proportions of giant tentacles (especially the tips) on a tiny head are adorable.
