So far, this fat thing has eaten half a lettuce leaf, my hand, some carrot and now he's on a dog biscuit to stop him chewing everything. He's also GIGANTIC. I've never seen a snail so big. Got him for £10 off eBay, just picked him up from the owner. My hand is still sore from his determined chewing. I don't want to put him in with the others with his vicious appetite until I know what he is. I'm an 18 year old girl and I don't have particularly large hands, and his shell fills my entire hand. His body could easily fill my other hand. Update: He accidentally dropped the dog biscuit and I had to shove it back in his mouth to stop him eating my blanket. Update 2: I am hand feeding him lettuce on his back like a baby and he's eating dog biscuit scraps off his foot. Why won't he stop eating.

What a terrible pig! He looks like Achatina reticulata to me. Lovely big fellow!

What a terrible pig! He looks like Achatina reticulata to me. Lovely big fellow! I have one of those already, he's absolutely gigantic in comparison and the colours don't seem quite the same. I thought my albino reticulata was big, he's a big chubby snail and putting on weight, but this thing is huge in comparison. Next to my hand chewing everything.
They both seem quite different to me, looking at them in person they're nothing alike, but I can't find a single snail that seems to match up with this one?

Still looks like a retic to me. Retics have that characteristic "rough" shell - they get their name from this "reticulated" shell texture.

I'll go with that for now then. I would've made the link myself if the two of them weren't so different looking, the smaller one has a chubbier face and his shell growth has been all over the place. Thanks!
