Hi lovey snail lovers I didn't know there were such thing as completely black snails. Is that a specific species? Or any species can have all black snails? Here is a picture of the little guy thank you

This is probably more information then you need but anyway,that's probably a specific species, but there is a mutation called melanism witch is the opposite of albinism were the animal produces to much melanin so they become completely black, but it's very rare (not sure whats rarer albinism or melanism). I don't think it can affect snails but if snails can be melanic then yes any species can have all black snails.

It's difficult to tell from the picture but it could be a garlic snail or similar they are that colour and size (some other similar snails are also that colour and size). Just try disturbing him such as lightly touching his skin and giving him a sniff does he smell of garlic? if so he's a garlic snail
