Hi everyone!I'm gonna show you my pet snails-3 achatina reticulata albino bodies .I've got some questions too-they are about 1 month and a week old and are they growinig well?I'm asking, because I think their "home" is now 5lt. plastic box and I don't know is this enough space for them and if they are eating less then they have to(I feed them every day and they didn's seem to eat lеss then they need).Their "parents"aren't huge, they are about 13-15sm long(not their shells) and can my snails grow bigger? prikachi.com/images/449/7362449H.jpg Here are they when I first got them(less then 1 week old) And after some time they were like this prikachi.com/images/456/7362456E.jpgNow here is a photo from yesterday prikachi.com/images/473/7360473J.jpg ; and today prikachi.com/images/475/7360475D.jpg

They don't look like retics, look like albino bodied&shelled fulica. Can see a few stripes on one of them that look like baby retic stripes but they are very pale shelled. Got any pics of the parents?

Hi Trick, Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid they're nto retics but i cannot tell you for sure what they are until they are a bit older.
Snails generally dont need feeding everyday just make sure the food is fresh (so may need changing often depending on the food - some food lasts several days), they will quite often go several days without eating.
Yes babies can grow bigger than their parents.
Do you have a calcium source available?

The "mom and dad" 's owner promised to send me a photo of them soon and when he does I will post them here.He told me that he had regognized that they are retis thanks to one friend, but he didn't seem to be sure.It doesn't matter what kind of achatina are they but I would like to know and I'll be thankful if you help me when I post photos of their "parents".Yes,the one of them has stripes, but the others have white shells. Muddydragon, yes they have a cuttlefish bone

They could be of jadatzi heritage (a cross between the yellowed shelled A. fulica hameieli form rodatzi and the A. fulica "jade") they can produce all colour types. The yellowed shelled ones of yours are probably A. fulica construct jadatzi form jadatzi and will remain yellowe shelled. whereas the dark shelled white footed are probably A. fulica consruct jadatzi form jade

Could their brown slell-colour appear after some time?Did you see their mom and dad's picture, they are both with colourful shells?

when very tiny (much smaller than yours) they can take a while for their colouration to appear. By this size it's very very unlikely that they will develop a full dark shell or mostly stripes, however the highly inbred jadatzi line can do some interesting things with colours, such as developing a few stripes here and there.
yes i saw the parents, yellow shells are recessive so it's very easy for dark shelled parents to produce yellow shelled offspring if carrying that allele

Hi!My babies are growing, but I think they are too small for 3+ months old fulicas The smallest snail's body is 10sm long(when he walks) and his shell is about 7-7,5sm long. The others are about that size, too.I'll post some pictures when they are not sleeping, but could you tell me are they too small for their age?

Don't mix A. achatinas with fulicas. They need a warmer environment.

Very good photos and lovely snails. Your substrate looks a bit dry, it might just be the photos.

Lovely loooking achatina fulica jadatzi form jadatizi and achatina fulica jadatizi form jade there yes you do need the substrate more damp - a good test if if you pick some of it of it up and squish it in your hand to form a ball you want it to pretty much retain the shape of a ball when you let go and it not to crumble. But when you are squishing it you don't want to see a lot of water coming out either (a little dribble is fine).

I had left the substrate to dry a little bit, because I made a mistake and it was too wet and they didn't like it.Now I have "showered"it in the way it should be

Cute snails! I like their massive eyes (I mean, compared to the snails I have ) and the color of their bodies. They're so cool! How much do these guys eat? I sometimes have the swarm of my Cepaea demolish lettuce leaves pretty fast, but it's probably still pretty slow by your standards

Thanks! They don't have the huge appetite they had when they were smaller. They eat about 10-15 slices cucumber+some sweet corn, boiled egg or fish food per day. They aren't growing that fast as they did before but I think it's normal, because snails grow slower after turning 6 months.Mine are now 5+ months old.

Oh my! That's crazy (for me)! I don't think my snails eat that in a week Do they eat the skin on the cucumber or do the thing where they leave the outer ring behind?
