I give my snails cuttlebone and romaine lettuce, and also a lot of different fruits. But I'd like to give them some more protein, and I saw people say dog biscuits (soaked and mashed up?) were a good source. I'm not sure if all dog biscuits are equally good though (I don't know anything about dog biscuits), so I took a picture of the side of the box: Do you think this sort of dog biscuit is okay? All the biscuits had all sorts of ingredients like these.

The protein and other nutrients sound like they could be good. The two things that worried me were the wheat (but I think this is supposed to be okay after soaking it so that it pre-expands) and the salt (but I can't tell exactly how much it has).

Honestly, I just throw whatever I find that's cheap and probably nasty into the basket and buy it. If it doesn't have salt listed on the ingredients, I use it. I've got a huge collection of various brands of £1-a-bag dog biscuits. Wagg'mmm's chicken biscuits are a big hit with the slugs. But the overall all-time favorite is anything that looks like this: It comes in a billion different brands, and the snails love them. Never done them any harm either. I can go dig up my collection of dog food and take photos of it.
