This morning after dawn I went exploring and found a very lively snail family! I snail-napped a very fast, cute little snail, who I named Moon :-) She's smaller than my adult snails, but larger than a hatchling. I'm guessing Moon is at least six weeks old. Here she is, after I misted the cage. Of course, she climbed up to the top! I gave her a quarter-slice of pear and she seemed to like it :-) Sorry the pictures aren't very good! I'm going to post more pictures here once I take some better ones! :-) EDIT: Here's Moon making a snaily U-turn! Here's one of Moon on the glass:

She crawled up to the lid, so I flipped it over and took a picture with a little bit better lighting :-)

Very nice photos, I like how obvious it is that you spend time observing her and take pictures of wht she naturally does. (I got nothing against pictures of snails on hands etc, these are just so much fun to see. )

Moon, your shell is so pretty!! Although it's just a little bit dirty because you dig tunnels! I know Moon was already at least halfway to being an adult when I found her, but she's growing so fast! She already seems like a pretty big snail.

She looks so happy! I love it when snails do what she does in the first photo, "ohhhh I must experience this with ALL my senses!!!"

Moon is covered with substrate! She sure loves tunneling :-) And she's so big! Every day, Moon grows even closer to being a full-size snail!

Oh, look how much bigger she is now! If you compare to the picture at the top of the thread, you can see she's grown a lot in the last month. It looks like she's forming the lip at the edge of the shell, so I think she's about done growing. Moon, you made such a pretty shell! :-)

Moon likes carrot :-) In fact, this evening she rejected cucumber! She avoided it and insisted on carrot instead! I've never seen a snail do that before. (This was going to be her first time eating cucumber, too!)

Oh Moon is so cute! I like the expression on her face when she eats bananas PS: In the last picture: Is that what sweet potato looks like? I can only find yam in stores, and while snails like it, it's not quite the same I feel.
