I have bought the snails a bigger tank today and I am not sure if the heat mat I have will be big enough. The dimensions of the box are
52cm Length 38cm Depth 34cm Height
And the heat mat is
28cm Length 15cm High

So it's about 1/4 of the tank's floor area, am I right? Usually it's good that it only warms up a part of the tank's floor area anyway, so snails can choose a calmer corner if so desired. But also, what snail specie is it for?

In the current tank it covers just over 1/4 top to bottom of the back wall but in the new tank it only covers 1/4 but only the bottom half not the whole wall so not really a lot of coverage if that makes sense?

Personally i would get a bigger mat, I've generally found the 7W mats to not be great at heating tanks that large, but it does depend on how cold your house gets. On a two foot tank i use a 28X28 12 watt mat. sometimes in winter i use two to form a corner of heat (one on the back and one ont he edge if you can picture it?) but i do put them on a thermostat (i also go insulation crazy as my house gets quite cold in winter). You could always pop a thermometer in and see how things look.

The temp is maintaining at 23.1 degrees so that should be fine shouldn't it?

The temp is maintaining at 23.1 degrees so that should be fine shouldn't it? Is this for fulica? That should be fine. Make sure there's a warmer end and a cooler end of the tank so that they can move away from the heat if they want to.
