This is a picture of Caracol & Lily! I've had Caracol since April 12, 2014 and Lily since September 30, 2014. They are really something! This picture was before I set up their home with dirt.

A little photo enhancement! Love you Lily, even though you bubble when I pick you up.

Newest addition to my lovelies! I found these two beautiful snails a few minutes ago. Very cute! Be sure to carefully check them for mites and give them some time in quarantine before introducing them to the tank with your other snails.

How do I do that?

To check for mites, look closely at their bodies and shells when they are out and about. If you see tiny white/beige things running all over them, they have mites. These can spread between snails extremely quickly and can be fatal so you don't want to introduce any wild snail that you haven't thoroughly checked into a tank. To quarantine them just put them in a separate tub or tank to your current snails for a couple of weeks and observe them closely for any signs of parasites or illness.

I don't see anything on them. Do pumpkin seeds help?

I don't see anything on them. Do pumpkin seeds help? They are supposed to help. I can't get them to eat certain foods. Caracol is so picky. He hates banana and egg shells. That why I have to use calcium supplements. The only things he like are apples (green) & watermelon. I hope they don't get mites. They seem really healthy. Strong shell, very active & eating and pooping regularly.

I don't see anything on them. Do pumpkin seeds help? Pumpkin seeds won't help with mites at all, but some people believe they can help with gut parasites - I think this is based on the fact that pumpkin seeds can be used to deworm chickens.

So sorry! I forgot to mention, the one on the left [bottom] is Luna. Named after Princess Luna from 'My Little Pony'. The one on the right [bottom] is Cera. Named after the dinosaur Cera from the movie 'The Land Before Time'.

Luna & CeraYou can tell them apart because Cera has one thick dark strip on her shell.

They're so lovely! LOL I love how Caracol's attempting to just reaaaaaach the carrot from where he's sitting! Also funny, I have Cepaea snails too and I don't think I've ever seen mine stretch that long. Could they be stretchier in different countries? Hmmm!

I don't know if you can see this but every time I put a carrot in for the snails, they do this. All the snails eat around the centre of the carrot until it's hallow.
