I am going to a pumpkin patch tomorrow and am wondering, can snails eat the little gourds that are always laying around for sale?

I don't see why not. Like ornamental pumpkins, people can eat them too, they just don't taste good. Gourds are pretty much the same thing as edible squash (butternut, acorn, etc.), and snails like those. It couldn't hurt to try, and let us know how it goes!

All my snails love squash n pumpkin flesh , guts n seeds. They tend to stuff themselves on it then sleep off the big feed for about 3 to 4 days lol.

Well I can sure try n convince my snails to write them a message in slime on some paper n then post it over to you to lay on the floor of your tanks for your snails to read. Not sure if it'll help mind n they may just choose to eat the message instead lol. Zorst

Yes they will probably eat it, a lot of my snails knew ex-secret agent snails* so they are well trained in the destruction of messages after reading but may have forgotten the instructions to read it first *My first four snails were called Illya Snailakin, James slime-fond, Napoleon Snailo and Indiana No-bones.

Ahh yes the secret snails, my Tiger snail Seilide is a brilliant code writer and breaker the only problem is there aren't many snails that can speak Irish snail language (Seilide = Snail in Irish) so we could def have a bit of a problem especially if yours eat the message first before they break the code. Note to self must get Seilide to also post the Snail Irish to English dictionary for them to use to help with translation. Well just have to hope that they don't eat the Snail Irish to English dictionary as well. If all that go's right hopefully your ex- secret snails will find out about the secret delights of eating Squash and Pumpkins. Just don't let em pass the secret on to the Slugs or we'll all be in trouble. Zorst

I carved a cute little pumpkin and stuck it in the snail tank. They slimed all over it and when I woke up in the morning a lot of the outer shell was missing. To cool, they are so small usually I can barely see when they have eaten anything. It also looks like they ate some of the guts I put into a separate container.
