So the team of Bulldozers have been working overtime for sure from the state of there tank today, everything including the water tub and half a pottery flower pot were upside down when I went to do there weekly through tank clean. But they thought they would leave me a little surprise. I've been hearing them moving stuff about in there tank the last few nights n just put it down to them having a great time earth moving.
Well in there big pile of earth in the corner that I was leveling out and inside it I found 7 eggs, these are the first GAL eggs that have been laid here as all the snails came in either as young or adolescent so they weren't old enough to reproduce. Well now they finally have n my eldest rug rat is over the moon.
We gave the margies a bath and noticed that another one is full of eggs as well so were all excited about how many will be laid in this next clutch. These one's we will keep n hatch out but if the eggs are going to be regular from now on most will be frozen. This is a great find in the tank clean all the same.
The 7 eggs are now in a small separate container with a lid on in some earth in the baby GALL tank as its similar temp and humidity. The tub there in has been sunk into the soil, as I don't quite think that the margies tank with all there earth moving is the best place for some eggs waiting to hatch.
Can anyone tell me how long Margie eggs usually take to hatch out? I'm aware that these could be test eggs and possibly not fertile but we'll just have to wait and see on that one.

When mine lay testers its always just one here and there - hopefully 7 is enough to be a viable batch If not, the other margie carrying sounds promising! X

Thanks for that Star, they were all buried pretty deep in one clutch not scattered about in ones or two's so fingers crossed we see the little slime trail of baby bulldozers . Zorst

Congrats. Most of my margies haven't bothered with testers and just gone for the full blown thing. Sometimes some or all of a clutch just doesn't hatch for some reason. I leave my eggs in the tank and somehow despite being tank destructors they seem to leave the eggs alone. however in another similar tank should be fine a lot of people take eggs out.
As for time to hatch it varries depending on temperature. I'ld give them 2 months but they could hatch a lot earlier. basically if i'm hatching some eggs i leave them until they either hatch go a funky colour (i.e "bad") and then remove them if they do.
