Hi,
Does anyone know the current status of albino albopictas? Any purebred specimens yet?

I have a pure bred pair that are unrelated and getting of an age that there showing intrest in each other so will hopefully have some eggs for spring time.
Some other Albino Alboptica owners / breeders may have some on the ground already or eggs waiting to hatch.

That's great! Thank you for replying Such a mess with this species.. My normal albopicta's are supposed to be pure - now pushing 5 cm. and still no pink tips :/

These guys do have pink tips to there shell's. I'm just waiting on them to decide its time to get on the groove n lay some eggs.

Hope you will see results soon I remember reading somewhere that all pure albopictas will have pink tips.. Can this be confirmed to be true? Any other fool proof signs?

So far as I'm aware albopicta are born with pink tips, they don't develop later. I also thought the pink tip was generally always present in pure albopicta, but have seen a few disputes arise over it. Some people seem to think an albo without the pink tip must be crossbred, some swear they're purebred and the pink is variable - really is a mess! There are a couple people on facebook groups breeding pure albino skinned albopicta anyways - pink tips and all. If you were interested in getting any
