Well ok slugs in my kitchen jokes aside, as I'm not really into slugs so my knowledge of them isn't that great I decided to check out the most common one's that regularly invade my kitchen.
Well its seem's the one I get the most is actually extremely rare so much so its a protected species, as it only lives in the area where I live and on area in Northern Spain.
This is the Kerry slug so I've added some info links about them to this post. I live in a protected area because of its Eco system so no pestersides or intensive farming is allowed. Its all mountain grazing, bog land and a few oak forests around here.
The kind that live here are the Greenish, brownish, greyish ones with the yellow spots.
Thankfully as were real snail friendly here the slugs get treated pretty well, with green tea baths if they have mites before being released out in the garden again.
Mind you no one told these slugs that they only eat lichens and live in Old Oak Forests or Bog land, because these guys sure like invading my kitchen n the veg baskets . And for some reason the thought my dishcloth made a great egg nursery .
The veg is now safe in large plastic lidded containers n the dish cloth n washing up stuff now lives in the main living area where the slugs don't venture to often .
Anyhow I hope you enjoy reading up about the Kerry Slug and looking at some pic's of them they really are quite handsome looking slugs I have to say.
