Thanks all! One of the reasons i love my immaculatas: the bodystripe contrasts very nicely with the light pink bodie, Their shells are much more heavy and massive comparing to Fulica's, their bodies are more wide and their heads are a bit squere-ish. sometimes they look like a little piggy

Very nice snails & slug! The slug is an Arion, right? Does he freak out and retract into a ball easily? The leftmost snail in the first pic, ahh...this may sound weird but his body looks so soft, I love it!

Thanks again for all compliments!! Etana, yes you're right its an arion rufus, in my country we call it 'gewone naaktslak' wich means something like: normal naked snail. so that name sounds very boring. That's why i like 'arion Rufus' it sounds exotic and interesting . That soft snail is my autistic snail ;)btw (because her atypical caracter) I named her ' Elvia', you are right, she is very soft indeed, immaculata's feels soft and smooth comparing to fulica's, in my opinion

Haha, that sure is a boring name. In my language, what we call the Arion rufus means "red chip slug", I don't know why the "chip" part but there it is. I guess it's not much less boring. Oooh!! Tell me more about the lovely Elvia, I'd love to hear! I keep scrolling to the picture and looking at it, thinking "awwww, so soft and nice!!".

aw, thats sweet you like Elvia so much. I do have the same sometimes with lovely snails, i almost fel in love with them (or something like that i quess....) BTW: elvia is the immaculata i told you about in the thread of mr Taavetti. She showed the same symptoms before she layed eggs. Now she's still recoverd fortunately) Besides that period her behouvior is atypical. She lives in her own, snail world. An other world than her friends live in.. no nice or funny example that's representative for her typical a-typical behouvior comes to my mind right now. But there are many wich i can;t recall now. i will promess, when i can i tell you immediately here
I love to search for facts and find out why something is what it is and i just found out why its called 'red chip slug' a chip could be a small piece of something, but it also means something like a stroke, strip, line... in my country it had several names and one looks like that. Some arion Rufus versions have a nice small red/dark orange stroke (sometimes with black stripes) wich encloses the hole body:

Lol yeah, I know, my heart just melts with some snails too. "Almost fell in love or something like that" is close, hahaha Oh, so it was Elvie with the similar problematic pregnancy! That's nice to know. All righty, I'll be waiting eagerly for stories about the Lovely Soft Snail. What handsome slugs! I love the pic of the retracted one. I also didn't know "chip" had those meanings. One learns weird stuff on a snail forum, for sure. Thanks.

although to be fair rufus in arion rufus just means red anyway . once you translate binomial names they're often boring or rude

Lol, I didn't know that rufus meant red, thanks Muddy. Apparently I should study me some good old Latin!

I didn't translate the latin name, but i translated the dutch name into English. I do like the latin names because i like latin, its a beautifull language. (but i haven't much knowledge about it) Any way; i didnt know rufus means red. almost all his different names in several languages mentioned the color 'red' though i never found at least 1 picture of a rufus that showed the color red on its body for real!! its Always orange!
so definetely the one who discovered this slug for the very first time and named him was colour blind! (I think my dad did it, since he is colorblind )

Maybe they called it 'red' despite it being orange because red sounds better (it does in Finnish too)? I can't think of any animal/plant names in my language with 'orange' in it, but lots with 'red' that aren't actually red, and some with 'copper' that are orange. Lol.
