'Senon', my big and always healthy Albopicta (his brothers died because of internal problems and bad shell growth, likely due to bad genes) is not doing very well.
a few weaks ago, he got a bit dehydrated. He feld a sleep on a piece of wood near an heatingmat. and i have noticed to late that is was to dry in that area. Senon wasn't able to went away from that spot. Maybe he allready was ill, or he slept too deep, He had rest there for 2 days before i picked him up and found out he was dehydrated. i gave him a bath and shower and he woked up very slowly. when he woke up, his color was much more dark as usual and his body extremely shrunken and looked shriveled. after he spent hours in bath and out of his shell, his body got a bit of his normal looks again. Since that day, senon isn't totally recovered.
through the breathing hole (in the left corner of it) is an huge yellow slime bunch stuck in his shell. He produces still yellow slime and the bunch seems to grow. He is still more thin and dark than he usually was. He is not eating very well. some days he refuse to eat or sleeps for days on a row. Some days he is suddenly very active, constantly moving around and buissy with other snails in his area. He could eat quite a lot food in a short period of time and went to sleep again for days. When i wake him up, his body is still shrunken, dry and get more size after beeing awake for hours.(before, he came out his sleep in normal size)
He had a big poo yesterday and i did not saw him eat since then. Though: he is very active. but the yellow slime, lost of weight, dry sleeps and he's not eating well make me worrie. Do i need to remove that big chunck of tough yellow slime out of his shell? Is it possible to clean a snail over there? And what could cause the yellow slime and other symptoms? Could the lump gets irritating for him?
