Hi there,
I am curious if anyone has any information to share on how to ship snails via the mail in the US. I have found someone willing to ship, and I plan on having them shipped overnight, but am curious how best to package them and how to mark the box to be mailed.
Thanks in advance!

First you need to check if the person willing to ship has a permit to ship the snails across state lines. If not they are very probably breaking the law (depending on the states and the species).

I understand that it is prohibited, but following UPS guidelines, it appears that all snails are "accepted" animals. I've also found a lot of conflicting info about just how "illegal" it is to ship and was curious if anyone has first-hand experience or knows how strictly enforced it is. Also, I'm shipping from CA which does not appear to need a permit.
Please feel free to PM with any sensitive info!
Thanks again!

§2118.2. Unlawful To Import Elk - Exceptions Except as provided in Section 1007, it is unlawful to import any elk (genus Cervus) into this state. Shoot, I've been meaning to import some elk... lol

It's a bit of a matter of opinion, but looking at my own fulica babies here, I wouldn't have the heart to pack and send them before their shells are at least 2 cm long. The bigger they are, the more likely they are to survive the journey. Also, are you sure you want all 10? I mean, if they all survive the journey and grow normally to full adult size, you'll have 70-150 cm of snail in total if you put them in a line, and they may grow to that size as fast as within 6-ish months of you acquiring them. Don't take this wrong, of course I don't know how well you're prepared, you may very well have a big, good tank setup there waiting and all, in which case it's all good. It's just very easy to get carried away with buying young snails (or letting the eggs of your own snails hatch) and then sooner or later discovering there's more snail than you meant to have, and it's only fair to both snails and their potential owners to make sure that's taken into consideration. Have fun!

Agreed, I wont ship any snails until they are at least 2cm in size and the weather is warmer. that way they have the best chance of surviving the journey. Its still very cold here so i wont ship the baby snails here until we don't get frost in the morning.

Thanks for the advise I take 10 because he didnt wanted to sell me less, + my friend also wants some, do you otherwise know anyone else who sells white jade(or rodadzi) where I can only buy a few?

Welcome. To be honest, that seller sounds a little suspicious to me. A responsible snail seller lets people buy as few snails as they want, instead of forcing their excess snails on anyone. :/ Um. My own rodatzi has had babies with my standard fulica, and I'd have no problem with selling just a few, but if you want real rodatzi, you may want to look elsewhere. They can only be called fulica with good conscience, and you're best off not letting any of their offspring hatch. Their shells are yellow (for now), their feet are dark, and eyeballs white, so they're very pretty and growing super fast, plus the parents are certainly unrelated (and particularly the "mom" is very big and strong). I also can't mail for a few weeks yet anyway, it's too cold here (Finland), but if you want, I'll pm you with pictures and more info about their "mom" and "dad", and you can decide after that.

That would be great though! I'd just want one then, or 2 x3 I love to have diffrent kinds of fulica x3
