Well tonite the Bulldozers have really made me laugh it now seem's that two Bulldozers are no longer satisfied with eating on the floor with the Immac's they want to take the food with them and eat it on the ledge near the tank lid, what they didn't take in to account was the largest of the two Immac's happened to be eating that particular piece of sweet potato. Over the next five minutes the drama that unfolded had me in stitches as they all tried to wrestle over who got the piece of sweet potato up to the ledge and the faces of the two bulldozers when they found that they had an Immac sitting on their bit of potato eating it with a somewhat bemused look on his face. This all happened half way up the side of the glass or the tank wall and ultimately they all ended up in a big heap of snails and sweet potato on the floor of the tank still wrestling over the sweet potato. I also had a nice surprise tonite when I looked in the GALS nursery tank to find in the egg tub that some more baby Bulldozers have hatched out. Four are with a white / cream foot and 2 have a dark foot. None of them have shown any more than there foot and the odd eye stalk and probably wont for a day or so but it sure is great to see that they have hatched. Zorst

Ahahahaha Zorst, fantastic story!! I'm laughing so much imagining that. I've seen that kind of stuff happening with my small snails but never the big ones! Sweet potato does drive snails crazy though. Just the other day I spread out little pieces of it around the Arianta tank. I had one piece on top of a big plastic grapefuit and another inside it. Well, in a matter of minutes about 8 nearly identical young Arianta had formed a symmetrical circle around the piece on the top, eating it. Meanwhile, Rudolf found the piece inside, sat on top of it, and spread his foot out as wide as possible. Then he sat there eating it all alone for the longest time. He's so fair, lol. I took pictures, want to see?

Ahh good for Rudolf, I love it when they do that an claim that piece of food as there own . Def would love to see the pictures, I'm waiting on getting paid so that I can get my main laptop repaired and upload photos from my camera again, I've not got the camera program on this spare laptop and its not got enough memory space to add the program, anyway it'll happen soon . The new baby bulldozers are doing well and I met 2 of them this morning they actually came out of there shells and slimmed around on my hand, one was white with black eye dots the other is a creamy beige with grey markings on its face n eyes stalks. I have to say they are real cute . Zorst

Well to nite's episode has erupted into Game of the Sweet potato not Thrones. So earlier today when every one was still asleep I put a piece of sweet potato in the Bulldozers tank for each snail and one over in case anyone gets pushed off. They all woke up about 2 hrs ago and I have just walked in to find the Immac's sitting on top of the flower pot with there two pieces of sweet potato, with their feet spread as wide a possible to cover as much sweet potato as possible glaring at the Bulldozers and daring them to come and even try to take their sweet potato. Three of the smaller Bulldozers have between them managed to get 2 pieces of sweet potato into the flower pot and are fiercely guarding it from the other two larger Bulldozers who are slimming around like they own the place and have all the rest of the sweet potato piled up in the snail bath in the corner of the tank. They keep making raids on the flowerpot but now have one bulldozers from inside has positioned its shell pretty much blocking the entrance to the flower pot and with the two very determined Immac's beating the two largest bulldozers up with eye stalks from above as they guard their own sweet potato. it seem's to be coming to a stale mate WHOA!!!! I thought Game of Thrones was bad enough with waring sides but it seem's that the bulldozers and Immacs have also been watching to much of the series as well. Ahh the fun and games of snail keeping but at least they keep me entertained. UMM perhaps I could throw confusion into the tank by adding some halved grapes and waiting to see what happens . Zorst

LOL! Snails truly are better than TV, one day it's a full on love soap opera with triangle/square/octahedron drama, and then another day it's this! Haha I love it!! Keep us updated! I'll post the pics I mentioned when I can get to the computer for long enough. And congrats for the babies from me too!

Ahh your defiantly right there Etana , I did break the stale mate with some sweet pepper and halved grapes. I put a few piles of them around the tank which kept the 2 big Bulldozers occupied enough for the smaller bulldozers to pull there grapes n peppers into the flower pot and the Immac's to stop beating everyone up with there eye stalks . They all seem peaceful now but still in their separate parts of the tanks. Zorst

The great sweet potato war of '15. The thought of the immacs beating everyone up with their eye stalks had me in stitches! Lol, me too. The eye stalk is such a scary weapon, with how soft it is and how carefully it must be used because there's an eye on it. I bet they were like "ahhh my eye!" after almost every beat.

Here are my pics! I remembered slightly wrong, it was 7 teenage Arianta, all siblings, who ran over to the piece I placed on top of the plastic grapefruit. I love their facial expressions! They look so cute when they eat something yummy, with their faces all ball shaped! And here's Rudolf claiming the piece inside: Look at how wide his foot is! He almost manages to cover the entire piece! Zorst, any news for us today?

Ahh so far its all quiet on the Great sweet potato wars as everyone is still asleep in there chosen spots around the tank. The 2 Big bulldozers have set up camp in the snail bath with there supplies of sweet potato, grapes and sweet pepper. The smaller bulldozers are still camped in there flower pot with there Guard Immacs sprawled out over the top of the flower pot entrance. The Immac's are awake and have eye stalks at the ready watching the big Bulldozers. I have to agree beating each other up with eye stalks does sound a tadge painful. Anyway I have to wait and see what the next episode of the Game of the Sweet potato is tonite and I'll let you all know what happens. I cant wait . Zorst

So typical snail fashion the game of Sweet potato has been happening slowly , still with everyone in there specific areas. That was until it became infectious to the other tanks and the added help of some melon rinds and spring green's. Well the next installment became the war of the spring green leaves with all the tanks splitting into sides and taking spring green leaves off to separate corners and defending them. The Arianta's were the funniest with this new game because they were determined in there mixed tanks that the cepaea's were not getting the new leaves. So to try and calm down all the beating up of eye stalks which still looks painful to me a mere human with none so I introduced my secret plan the melon rinds. Well that sure sweetened the deal and everyone I think got kinda drunk on the very ripe melon juice and they all ended up finding mates and making snaily love not war thankfully. The results of that being I now have loads of snail eggs The big bulldozers have just laid me a clutch of 7 more. These I'll hatch but they will be the last egg's of the Margins I'll hatch for a while. The Immac's have also been busy and there's went in the freezer straight away as I sure don't need any more Immmac babies slimming around right now. The baby bulldozers are now roaming around in a teenage band and acting like bulldozers , thankfully Seilide the Tiger snail has them all in hand and reminds them that they should behave around the smaller babies. He's funny he's not full grown but acts like the guy in charge who wants a quiet tank . Another clutch of bulldozer eggs hatched the other day so we have another 6 now sliming around. Again its a mixed batch colors wise, 2 are white with black eye dots, one is cream with a grey face and Eye stalks, one is silver and the other two are the greyish, pinkish brown of the adults. So that's about it for this installment of The Game of sweet Potato. Zorst
