Anguispira alternata shell cross section camera test 2015

I was cleaning out several shells a couple days ago and noticed that some of my A. alternata shells have cracked in two, but instead of throwing them out I thought I'd attempt to take pictures in order take advantage of the cross sectional view. Being Discidae snails, I personally think it looks quite interesting, but as for image quality, I'll leave them up to anyone viewing this thread to decide.

Really cool pic's thanks for sharing them there really interesting. I love the Ghost snails effect one at the bottom of the page, Now that would look cool on storage containers n kids lunch box's lol.

Thanks, I think I'd have a hard time visualizing shell interiors as well!

I can imagine it looking great on textured surfaces as well. Oh the ideas!

I know , It has me thinking about drawing them on glass, I used to do artwork on glass. Ahh the ideas are endless!

I have already painted snails on some test pottery bowls in glazes that were fired and the rug rats claimed and now treasure, this was when I was doing some art work in test glazes for a friend.

Next they have plans for me to do them each a dinner set of a plate, egg cup, bowl and mug, they have there plans for their Xmas presents already .

Ah Zorst I could pay to have a snail coffee cup, I've been looking for one that is not one of those silly cartoon ones with the eyes in a wrong place!
