Here are my two brown-lipped squishies! With the hot weather we're having I'm struggling to get any more, but if these guys have babies I won't need to! They don't seem to interact much, is that normal?

Cute snails! They sure look happy. They won't interact much with each other, so don't worry about it They will find each other to do their dirty deeds though!

Thanks everyone! mewakitty; Haven't seen any dirty deeds yet, but then they might be doing it when I'm not looking xD Katan; Oh get some, they're awesome! Reasonable size, easy to keep, very colourful and there's loads of them! astana; He is very dark isn't he? Do you happen to know the normal colour for C. nemoralis feet?

Haha you'll know! Mine leave extremely slimy patches on the glass, sometimes with some loveprobes just laying around. Watching it is like watching a lavalamp... Strangely mesmerizing. Katan, where do you live? The US?

Allentown on the border of Emmaus. First time I've seen anyone even in the same state. At least if we find interesting snails and they have babies, we may be able to share. No state lines to cross!

sparrow Yes! I stayed in Emmaus with my ex where his dad lives. That's so cool lol. Well I actually do have a clutch of Cornu aspersum due to hatch soon hopefully as the eggs have started to brown a bit and are 8 days old. As long as they're fertile and hatch, I'd be fine giving you some. maybe a private message would be better to talk through.

The Cepaea here have light coloured feet, some are almost white really. So it's weird to see a black one! I hope you'll see their mating dance, it's my favourite of the ones I've seen with my own eyes. Granted I've only seen Cepaea, A.fulica and Arianta arbustorum mating dances so far, but still.

I agree with Etana, cepaea usually do have very light feet, and their antennae sticks out because they have a dark color. Your cepaea is an unusual beauty.

etana; It would be good to see their dance, but I'll let them have their privacy when it comes to the business astana; Oh I didn't know this! Even more pressure for Io to pass on his genes then!

I got a newbie today! He's a bit smaller than my others and a bit scraggly, but we'll soon have him better! He's a real wriggler, very very active! He's also the first I've had that actually reaches up when you wet him. He's in a separate tank for a while, until I've made sure he has no diseases, but I can't see any mites or anything on him. His mucus is a bit sticky though; I've been wetting him but could it be a sign of disease? It has been hot in the last few days though if that matters.

Nice brown stripe on the shell! If it has been hot and dry out for the past week like you said, he probably just has stickier mucus due to that. I think he will re-hydrate in your terrarium.

Liguus; Yes I've not seen one with a black stripe and a brown stripe before I do hope so, I've not held him today (just letting him settle in), but he does look a bit less slimy.

I'm so very sorry for disappearing! Some stuff happened and I just lost track of internetting In the meantime the eggs (I kept a few, buried the others in the wild) hatched, and I hatched a second clutch, though out of the 7 eggs I kept only 1 survived :/ I have no idea what happened, they were ok for a fortnight then they just seemed to die. I'm still very hesitant to put the survivor with the others in case it's carrying something... Onto brighter news, the original clutch (out of 14, 1 definitely died, the others tend to hide under leaves so the last count of 12 may not be accurate): ^ When they first hatched. ^ Latest picture (about a week ago) This is one of the 2nd clutch, possibly the survivor but probably not: My big snails are still snailing around, though Ganymede is a compulsive snoozer (last time I saw him was Halloween when I cleaned them out and woke him up). Europa is the lightest sleeper, he's up pretty much everyday, and I see Io every few days (I have seen him when I've got up early though so I think he's just more nocturnal). ^ Io (right), Ganymede (left) and Europa (out of focus towards the back left) ^ Io just goofing around ^ Hand-feeding Ganymede ^ Europa munching away ^ Ganymede tunnelling under Europa's leaf (poor old Europa xD) ^ Europa curled up like a dog <3
