As you know we have had our first batch of gal eggs, we removed most but least some to hatch,;they have been there undisturbed for 16 days now and am now worrying that they won't hatch, anyone know how long they should take

I have candeled, a few of the eggs tonight, they look totally clear, will leave them a for a bit yet, but I think there should be signs of something growing inside, am disappointed, my daughter especially so.

Just leave them, they will most likely hatch, sometimes you can't see the baby snail.

I think I can see 2 hatched eggs (difficult to see them clearly ) , they seem to be taking a while to leave the shell, would this be correct and will they stay below the soil for a couple of days?

Yes, I didnt have gals, but when my aspersum hatched they were inactive for maybe two days and took their good old time, making me suffer lol. They eat their eggs and allow their shells to harden a bit.

Katan is right, that applies to giant snail hatchlings as well. They're usually pigment-less for the first day or so, appearing a creamy-ish white colour or almost translucent. Good luck, and have fun observing them! They're most adorable when they're still learning to use the foot and keep falling over. Plus if you have them with the adults, there will be some funny adult-baby-interactions too.

Oh my gosh I love when they first meet adults xD I separated the eggs so that I could put them in a 10 gallon with a mesh cover on the lid, but once big enough so they can't escape from the screen, I add them to my 29 gallon adult tank. Eveyrtime I put new ones in the adults look at them and check them out and the babies climb on them. I love how curious and interactive they are and how they can recognize that the snail I just put in is new to the tank .

That's a bit strange. Are you able to see their little eye stalks and feet, are they moving around? If yes, it might help to remove the soil on top of them and give them a bit of the same food that adults get, and a poop from them too.
