Hello! I'm new to the snail raising scene, but I've gone out and found a snail in my backyard. We're buds now (well maybe not according to the snail but still). I'm excited to watch them grow (they're smaller than the other snails in my yard but still have the same type of shell so I'm guessing they're young), and I hope I don't totally fail as a snail parent. Wish me luck!!
Their name is Daedalus because I thought it sounded cool haha.

Hey there! Snails like to have company, so you may want to find some friends for little Daedalus. If you're in the US like me Daedalus is probably a brown garden snail (cornu aspersum/helix aspersa). Be sure to give them calcium (eggshells, calcium powder, or cuttlebone) for their lil' shell and teeth so they can get bigger.
