Hello. I've been following this forum and I want to thank all the users for they have provided me with invaluable information. I have a relatively young pet snail, who came in a ecologic pack of broccoli from Spain (I reside in Finland). I could wake him up and he has been fine for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday when I was trying to move him to clean his place, I cracked his shell a bit. I didn't use much force or anything, however it felt really weak. I've been giving him some eggshells and his feces are white-ish, so I think it is not a problem with the calcium. I will try to upload some pics for you guys to give me your opinion. Now he has difficulty in getting himself in normal position and when he walks it seems there is a bit of him coming out through the crack. I am crying my eyes out and reading upon shell repairing, but your opinions would be most valued. Ps. Sorry I keep referring to it as "him". Link to a Imgur photo album, I apologize for the bad quality of the pictures. Pictures

Yay! Another fellow finn! Cuttlefish bones (seepiansuomu) are bettet sources of calcium than egg shells, I recommend you go to a pet store (one that also sells reptile/bird supplies) and buy one, cleaned and unflavoured. Also cook an egg without salt, and give him a piece of the yolk so he gets vitamin D to help with the calcium and the snail's overall strength. Keep us posted. And don't worry, suomi is a funny language because we can call snails with the genderless words, but most of us here do call our snails he and she.
