I have two Lissachatina iredalei. Have had them about 5 months now. At first they seemed really happy. Were growing and doing great. But the last month they have been off. Growing a kinda crusty shell, not eating a ton, etc. Kinda at a loss about why they are suddenly unhappy. I have them in a 38 liter tank, so lots of room. The temp and moisture are what they always have been.
Any body who breeds them have tips? What temps do yours like to be at? how wet? Any favorite foods? I see photos online of some and mine are near as big as those and I really am worried about the general unhappy look of the shell and the not really eating.
thanks for any tips.

Do you feed them enough calcium and protein? That is mostly the cause of a crusty shell. For calcium I like to feed mine crushed eggshells and for protein a little bit of hard boiled egg yolk.

They get a high protein snail mix every 4 days. That has calcium in it as well and they also have a cuttlebone in the tank right by the food. One has a pretty decent shell, and the other one is pretty bad looking. Neither is as big as I feel they should be given the photos I have seen of others. I got them in Sept as med size babies. They did great up until a couple months ago. Conditions have not changed at all in that time.
