So I've all bit bought an exo terra terrarium for my 2 snails the back of the terrarium however it has styrofoam (I think) rock wall insert at the back.
I've always used a heat mat on the back wall of the tank bit I'm worried that the background will stop the heat from penetrating the terrarium as its quite thick.
Has anyone had any expierience with this?

You can remove the foam backing from the Exo Terra tanks. I always found that my snails liked to rasp on it, so I removed it.

I really like the backing, since this post I've bought and aet up the tank, I have the mat on one side which seems to be working. I did wonder about them trying to nibble the Styrofoam though! They haven't yet but I will keep an eye on it more now I know its possible! Also just realised I've been posting in the "aquatic snail" section -_- * noob alert *
