One of my garden snails buried themselves a few weeks or so ago, and sealed them-self in their shell. The other two are fine, but I have no idea why it happened. (I don't know their ages, if it's needed). I thought he was dead for a bit, but he still doesn't smell dead. I have no idea what to do, or if I can do anything to help him or figure out what's wrong.
EDIT: He came out last night by himself. I can't really manage heat in there because we don't have any heaters or heating pads, even though I said we should get a heating pad for them during the winter. Thanks, for the help, though.

I don't know much about garden snails but are the heat and humidity ok? I think some snails are more sensitive than others

It's winter, so it's fairly common for them to decide to hibernate, may be due to lower light levels or lower temperature. You can wake him up if you want by placing him in a shallow dish of warm water and then putting him directly onto some food when he emerges. If he goes to hibernate again, try putting the tank somewhere slightly warmer.
