I bought a bag of dried floral moss from a Dollar Store. It was in the craft aisle. The packaging doesn't say what kind of moss, or if it's preserved or what. "Made in China". . Is it safe to use as a substrate?

Is it safe to use as a substrate? I'd only use moss that's intended for reptiles or live animals personally, as you can be sure that's safe and won't include dyes or anything else.

It looks undyed. I think I'll chance it. Sometimes it depends on the packaging: same stuff labeled for live animals, and the price is quintupled!

I use sphagnum moss that I get from the florist.

I think this stuff is sphagnum moss. So far so good; it's mostly covered up by branches and bowls anyway.
