Hi everyone,
So this probably isn't a problem/help scenario for many of you, but it is for me as a relatively unexperienced snail owner. Frederick is my pet snail and I caught him garden around October last year and he's been in the tank ever since and seemed really happy.
I notice he likes to burrow a bit into the soil so I didn't think much of it when he did it today, but then I checked later in the afternoon to see a huge pile of eggs in the burrow he dug!
Whilst this is exciting, I don't really know what to do with them. Also don't actually know if they're fertile as he's the only snail in the tank.
What should I do with them? Do I leave them in the burrow and wait for them to hatch? Do I release them or do I get rid of them (i.e. freeze).
I'd only realistically be able to keep 1-2 of the babies as the tank I have right now isn't the biggest and I'm worried of overpopulation.
Any help would be great!

If you don't have space to keep or raise babies, then freezing the eggs ASAP is the best thing to do.
If the snail is native to your area then you could put the eggs outside, however depending on where you live it may be too cold for them to hatch or survive at the moment anyway.

Okay will do! Its summer where I live (New Zealand) so I might try putting them outside as I don't really want to kill them if they're fertile!
