Remember that it's illegal to ship live snails over state lines, so if you are purchasing (or selling) snails it must be from within your own state.

Is it still illegal if they're just brown garden snails? I know they're very common, being that they're pretty much all over the U.S. But my brown garden snail layed eggs a few days ago (3 more days and they should be hatching!) and a friend of mine wants one. But I live in New Mexico and she lives in California. If I can't send it next day mail, do you kno how I can get it to her without driving all the way to Cali? Plz help. Thank you so much in advance.

Yes, shipping any live plant-feeding snail or slug over state lines is illegal. Different states can also have additional restrictions or rules that must be checked. See the USDA site for more info: www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/planthealth/import-information/permits/regulated-organism-and-soil-permits
