A while ago I wrote about how one of my snail tanks was invaded by mold, so I evacuated my snails to the empty one I had just bought. I've been putting off cleaning the tank for a while, because I was unsure of how to clean it. I don't want to leave traces of chemicals in the tank when I move the snails back in. I want to get rid of all the mold bacteria, though!
How should I clean the tank? I've heard you can use vinegar diluted in water, but what else could I put in to ensure the tank is properly cleaned, and what ratio of water:stuff ? Or should I just use something like Mr.Clean but rinse it off thoroughly? What do y'all think?

Just spray it down with some vinegar, let sit for a half hour, wipe down, rinse and you should be fine. How much you delude depends on what you need. Ratios aren’t super sensitive, it’s mostly a need to need basis with how strong you need it to get the mold off.

I would just use some Dawn dish soap (regular blue kind) and then rinse well. That's how I clean all my tanks during their once-yearly wash.

littlegoldsnail @liguus Thank you both!! I think I'll try both methods to ensure there's no mold left behind.

Make sure you rinse it really really well (especially with dawn).

Make sure you rinse it really really well (especially with dawn). Of course! I wouldn't want my snails to get sick.
