I don't know you all very well, but all of your advice helps me out a lot! I'd like to get to know you a bit better, and maybe make a few friends! Besides snails, how have your lives been recently?
I've been going through a rough patch, but I'm getting through it with the help of my school counselor! I have a few big exams coming up, but I'm confident that I'll pass! I've been practicing for them! (The tests are more memory-based rather than thinking deeply to find the answer.) I'm looking forward to christmas because there's a chance I may get a visit from my father and younger half-sibling! I haven't seen either of them since I was a little child.

That sounds fun! This year my family decided to put everyone’s names in a hat and and whatever name you get is who your getting a present for. So far it has been... uh... interesting (I got my dad, and he’s not easy to find a present for, lol).
We are also currently planning a snowboarding trip for this winter, that will be fun! I’ve been 4 times before, and it’s amazing!
Me personally, I have some health issues and recently it’s been pretty rough, but God is good.
Been drawing weaponry for my book, that’s fun. Also working on drawing a sea serpent, never done one of those before so it’s pretty new to me. Does anyone else on petsnails forum like to draw?
P.S. who has their tree up yet?

Hopefully more people reply to this thread later on in the week! ^^ We have our tree up already at our house! What's your book about? I don't draw that often, but I have been drawing a lot more as of late! It's interesting that you mentioned weaponry, because I've been drawing a lot of different types of switchblades! That may be something cool for you to put in your book, unless by 'weaponry' you meant heavier things like swords?? I imagine blades when I read that word. I'm sorry to hear that you're going through something, I hope you'll be in good health soon!! (or that at least your pain will be eased if it's a chronic ailment)

All sorts of weaponry, swords, bows, daggers, knives, one character even carries a hoplite/falcata like weapon (a type of Greek/Roman sword that was built to have both the benefits of a sword and axe at the same time). It’s based in a medieval time period. Completely fantasy, made up countries. It’s primarily about a couple wardens and a 11-12 year old girl (she is kind of a message runner/scout for one of the wardens), but it’s kind of a complicated plot, and to be honest, I haven’t really worked out all the details of it yet.
One of the hardest parts is coming up with systems of government for different countries.
For a little clarification, wardens are a kind of a branch of the military, specializing in guerrilla war far. They all carry bows and usually have a melee weapon of choice. Typically they don’t wear any kind of armor and often do a lot of reconnaissance and special missions.
There is also a goofy, bald, inventor involved. He has a bunch of pet squirrels and generally thought to be crazy. He makes invention to help the wardens. He is kind of an interesting character. I thought about making him have pet snails to (just for my own amusement), but then I realized that if I did, I would talk way to much about them and the book would no longer be entertaining. 🤣

I'm fine thanks! I'm working a lot recently, but fortunately we reached the weekend again, and also there will be Christmas holiday soon, that are really needed at the moment! and i think I'll go to ski a bit during these holidays as I love mountains both in winter and in summer! then abt me, I run a small fabric trading company, and work as personal trainer as a second job (more as a passion, as i used to do a lot of sport and used to fight in muay thai and karate when i was younger). Btw I got a passion for weapons too, as my uncle was the president of my city's shooting range. Also my other passions are history, architecture, manga&anime, and recently im totally into snails as you could see!

daniele I think you'd like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure! It's hard to pin an exact genre on it, but there's action, some drama, and a rich plot in every story of the series. If you do decide to read it, I'd recommend you start at Phantom Blood. Some people think the first part is 'boring', but you have to start at the beginning, right?

Yea, I live on 17 acres up the side of a mountain, so we kinda have a gun range in our back yard. That’s so neat that your uncle was the president of a gun range! I love shooting. We got our first buck this years hunting season and that was good. It was fairly young, so it tasted amazing. It tasted better then most beef I’ve had.

At the moment Im just following One piece (from its beginning 20 years ago) that is totally my favourite of all time; in the past before one piece my favourite used to be Fist of northern star (as im a bit old in fact ahahahah) and recently im only following berserk, attack on titan and one punch man! And yes I agree, beginning of anime is often boring, but of course you cannot just skip it!

Being in contact with amazing nature is much less stressful than living in town in my opinion! I have to say I've never tried to hunt, but Im lucky to have big natural areas close to my town too, so i could try in the future, I've always been stopped by the fact you need to wake up at 4 AM on weekend in order to hunt.... But yes I think venison of all kinds is amazing, in fact we have lot of typical recipes with that in our area!!

You don’t have to, some people like an early start, but that’s preference. I didn’t actually shoot the dear (it was my dads tag), but I saw it happen and I help with the skinning and gutting and stuff. We actually shot the dear at about 5pm, not morning at all. What we did, in the morning (often didn’t even leave till 7-9 am) would just go off out in the woods and hike around. My brothers spotted 2 or 3 bears and a big buck while doing this, sadly, when my brother saw the buck he got buck fever and missed, lol, he’s still talking about it. After scouring the woods, the dear we actually shot walked right across out front yard, lol, (don’t worry, we waited till it was a safe shot)

Here the general attitude is to go on early morning, don't know why... In fact areas and time periods in which you can hunt are quiet restricted by lot of rules! Also the nature in the area where you live must be really amazing, you even have the chance to spot grizzly bears...must be really wonderful animal and I guess very impressive to see in their habitat!!!

Not grizzlies, just little brown and black bears (we are in Oregon) but it’s still neat. There is a mama bear with two cubs on our mountain and she doesn’t mind us. There is also a male that we’ve seen. One time one of my brothers snuck up on him by accident and spooked him, he ran... lol.

Black bears are amazing too! and even more cute, to see the mum with the cubs! we have just few brown bears here too, but they are almost impossible to spot, as they are so few.. since you are in Oregon maybe you got wolverines too? one of the most wonderful animals in my opinion!

Nah, but we have raccoons, foxes, coyotes, skunks, bobcats, cougars, dear and brown and black bears. We get an occasional weasel, but that’s more rare. One of my brothers actually shot a coyote recently, we don’t want them to start breeding and overpopulating so there are no hunting restrictions on them. Sadly some crazy environmentalists just released a pack of wolves that are illegal to kill and they are reeking havoc on farms, I think they killed like 32 sheep in one night. Finally the farmers are aloud to shoot them to keep them away from their farms, but it’s still stupid that they got released in the first place.

Nice! lot of different wildlife! wow strange that they released some wolves, as for what i know, once they are declared as protected, their population will increase easily! here farmers have a big problem with wolves too, but they are not allowed to shoot them in any case, in my opinion is a bit too strict! they have so many boars to hunt, like hundreds of thousands, but of course they still prefer easy hunt on cattle! Still they are magnificent animals, but unfortunately I never met one in the forest as they are super scared by humans..

Jojo is a VERY long running series, I think it came out in the 70's! There's also a jojo anime, if you'd be interested in that! But I'd recommend reading it first, as it makes the anime adaptation THAT much more stunning.

I can't believe it got to that state before people were legally allowed to protect their animals!!

Sorry for my absence for the past few days! I needed a break from the internet, as I wasn't feeling well. I tried my best on my exams, hopefully I passed! They are worth 15% of my final GPA this year! I'm raising 7 little hatchlings in a container, and there are a lot roaming free in the parents' container. I'm trying to see if they'd do better in a bigger container or a smaller one. The ones living in the smaller container are clearly doing better, they're eating more food and developing faster. I think it's because with less space to cover, they can find the food easier. My mom won't believe me though, and I'm not allowed to buy them a small critter keeper.

Anyway , are you better now? After many efforts I think you can enjoy some holidays too now! PS: with my very limitated experience, I can tell you that babies will grow faster in small tank in fact...How many of those hatchlings are doing fine actually?

It usually gets pretty bad around the holidays. I shouldn't talk much about my situation as it will only get me into trouble, so I'll just leave it at this; I am forbidden to any sort of professional help, so I'm dealing with a mental illness on my own. I have no idea what the ailment is. There are 14 in the small jar now! There used to be only 7, but I caught the tiny ones from the parent tank and put them in with the other babies. There's clearly a size difference, and the ones that lived in the small jar from the very beginning are doing much better than the parent tank babies. There may be more hiding inside the parent tank. I'll just pick them out as I find them. My snails are mating right now.. uh oh. I really don't want to freeze these eggs, but I may have to. Oh no!! I already have a little too many babies.

Replying to this thread title, I’m all of the sudden AMAZING!!!!!!!! Guess why? I’m getting a cello!!! My birthday is next week so I am going to be using my birthday money and going in on a cello with my sister (we both really want one). My sister plays the piano and I play the violin. Both of us being musicians, we have always wanted a cello in the family. the cello is mostly going to be mine only for the reason that it’s really hard for her to hold a bow cause her pinky fingers are a little messed up. We can do duets and such though with me playing the cello and her playing the piano.
