Hello! I got my first snail a few days ago. I love my snail so much already, but they're very shy. Whenever I try to pick them up, they will retreat into their shell and I can only get them to come out with treats. So I was wondering, does my dear snail just need some getting used to their new surroundings or will they always be this shy? Thank you for your answers.

They will probably always be shy. I had a snail that would be scared out of her mind when I picked her up. She would froth and bubble and suck herself inside the shell completely. Now it’s been eight months, she doesn’t froth or go totally inside the shell, but she still seems a little frightened. So they kind of learn you won’t hurt them, but I guess a shy snail will always be shy.

I feel like my snail has gotten used to me a bit, they will no longer go inside completely and move more on my hand.
