Do you want me to sit in the corner and rust, or just fall apart where I'm standing?

Hi Paul, do you think that the snails I have as Polydontes are Zachrysia, as you suggested in that strand? They are noticably arboreal in my set up, spending the day up in the branches I have for them, and coming down at night. Anyway, they have laid eggs today, so if they are Zachrysia, was there some environmental condition that affected these today?

Mine prefer to burrow and never climb so perhaps that is an indicator they are different. Not a decisive one though There is a way of possibly telling. Mine have very defined criss-crossed sculpture on the shell, which I can see clearly in the Zachrysia pics. But that may be the same for polydonte. The only other difference I have spotted is that yours tend to have white early whorls, and mine are the same colour as the rest. How big are yours? Again, I'll take some detailed photos later this week. As for environmental conditions, it is possible but I suspect it is a happy coincidence.

RE. environmental conditions, I meant it tongue in cheek! Mine are between 23 and 28 mm.

One of my Zachrysia (?) is still laying as we speak, there is a cluster of surprisingly large, white eggs, with a black dot at the centre, more visible than with other snail eggs. So, should have a few of these babies.
We could do with knowing if mine and Fatslug's are the same, so we don't both end up hatching loads of one species.

I have them, the snails that is, no eggs yet....Paul check my picture thread, maybe you can identify them as being the same species as yours at least petsnails.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=snailpictures&action=display&n=1&thread=3144

I'm getting confused so Kevin and Fatslug have the same barbados snails, and fatslugs have laid but Kevin's haven't. Is that correct guys? Also, should I hatch my eggs?
I looked at the pictures briefly, I've realised that the white whorls are just where it is worn, some of them have more wearing all over. So they could be the same. When I photograph mine, I'll do my best to compare them.
Try and get pictures of the shell from different angles if you can. That is what I'll do and we can compare.

Apart from the fact that my snails like to 'roost' up in the Ivy, rather than burrowing in the substrate, they are the same as yours, so Zachrysia.
