2 years ago in my garden there were hardly any slugs, last year there were a few more, but this summer theres sooo many! theres nearly as many as the snails. do you think they might compete with the snails for food or something?

Could it be Arion lusitanicus?
They are an invasive species in Denmark (i think they are brought in from Spain), developing in to a real problem for garden ovners since they breed very fast and has got very few natural enemies.
I collect and eliminate 20-30 of these slugs every time i visit my garden - kind of sad since they are very beautifull, but they eat all my vegetables and drive the native species of slugs and snail to the point extinction.

Because it is an invasive species, it does not belong in the Danish nature and is a threat to the danish gastropod fauna. I would be VERY unpopular if i collected a bunch of these slugs and released them somewhere in the vicinity of other garden owners. Furthermore, it's against the law.

Is it against the law to send them to other countries? if it isnt you're welcome to send a couple to me if you like
