I have seen some at school, and steped on one accidentally... They are everywhere in Autumn! Lovely little animals.... The most I have seen are around 4cm long (from tail to eyes) Also I have seen a much bigger... (shell diameter 5-6 cm) I think they have a quite nice apearance. They are brown and with shiny shells. I have seen some white shelled snails, too, around my neihboorhood, but I don't know if they are aspersas... They look like helix pomatia to me.

Ooh I would like to get my hands on one of those from Canada, they do look rather different. Is it a subspecies or something to do with diet/conditions I wonder? It would be interesting to breed with the European aspersa.
I shall have to take some photos of my aspersa too.

Why do you get all the Albinos? Why are their no Albinos round here? lol. No fair. Not sure on whether its a Aspersa x Pom. From the picture, to me, it looks more like an Albino boddied Aspersa. Very pretty one at that What makes you think its a cross with a Pom? I'm not very good at Iding though, so i may be wrong lmao. Katie x

That pic of the two opposite colored aspersas side by side reminds me of the snakes that circle the medallion in The Neverending Story (the book, not the movie). One was black and the other was white, and the same snakes appear on the copper colored cover of the book within the book. Just a little random connection. They're gorgeous in any case.
