I really hate to regurgitate an old thread... but... Hello all, I'm Melanie, Mel for short . I'm 15, and live in a small town on the edge of a pond. I love animals, and own a dog, hamster, rats, reptiles, and just recently, a massive land snail. I play basketball, love to swim, and enjoy summer evening walks in the forest. I'm not the most exiting person, but who cares. -Mel

Hmm. I read some if this thread and thought I could join in. I introduced myself not so long ago, but here's a part of my story that's relevant to this thread:
I'm recovering from depression that nearly had me take my own life. It's been some years of feeling out of control of myself and my life, but now I'm becoming sure I'll make it and have a good life after all. Of course the biggest outside helpers are doctors, but snails help me so much too. They make me smile and take my thoughts away from the past or the future, which is good as I'm so prone to worrying.
I also am likely neuroatypical. Working on getting a diagnosis on exactly what I have so I can finally get accommodations at university. Most likely I'm at the 'higher functioning' end of autism spectrum, but we'll see the specifics soon.
Oh and snails are a good motivator too - I can tell myself, "finish this boring task and then you can stare at your snails" now that I'm getting the self-discipline back that depression stole from me.

Ugh- This thread is so old, but I felt like introducing myself... So here we go- I'm a 15 year old girl and I live in Finland(as most of you know probably) I've been interested in snails, slugs and insects for my whole life. I suffer from OCD so sometimes I might get a bit weird. I usually don't write more than two sentences in a row like most people do and I have to press the Enter-key to continue my stories.
Music and animals are my life- I also love drawing and art in general, never been to any art schools or anything, since I find them a very dirty place and there are so many people that I can't handle myself. I get very anxious around people I don't already know and in my opinion, they have a lot of germs in them. It's nothing personal, I just can't.... Yeah.
Most people in IRL and URL call me Robin. That's not my real name, but I'm perfectly fine with it and sometimes accidentally introduce myself by that name- I'm very socially awkward too... Well, awkward in general-
I have a lot of fears, but cetaphobia must be the most disturbing. I'm afraid of whales, yup.
Lot of allergies and stuff like that-
That's about it.

ZOMBIE THREAD RESURRECTION TIME!!
I'm Eilís, I'm from Ireland, but moved to London when I was 18 and have lived here since, apart from six months in France when I was 20-21. I'm now 25 (but still five at heart). I'm a self-employed writer, and I live in the East End with my two cats, 15 GALS, and terrifyingly numerous cepaea. I like snails, cats, eating, baking, eating baked goods, purple things, sparkly things, good books, and Oxford commas.

Started in 2008? Woah.
I'm Amber, a 15 year old from England, specifically around the northern part. I have two cats and a guinea pig. As for snails, I have four helix aspersas, two adults and two little ones.
I love snails to death! I'm usually not a fan of 'creepy crawlies' but I find snails to be the most fascinating and, once you get over the slime, cute and gentle. I really want to be some kind of snail farmer when I'm older. Sometimes I find myself captivated just by them moving around, interacting or eating, and before I know it, I've spent an hour just simply looking at my snails.

I guess I’ll resurrect this ghostly thread.
I’m Elizabeth (or just Lizzy), I’m 14. (actually 13, turning 14 on december 31st) Born and raised in Oregon, but an Idaho-ian at heart (love cold and wind. Just took a trip to Idaho recently and fell in love with the snake river and the jaw dropping thunder storms). I love music, books, my pets and outdoor activities. I love snowboarding, swimming, riding ATVs, archery, shooting guns (yes, I’m a God believing, gun toting conservative). I love to play my violin. I am currently writing a novel (I have a massive imagination and I’m a book worm). I have an aquarium with my pet betta and aquatic snails (that’s how I first got into snails), I have 12 helix aspersas and my cat named shadow (she is black and fluffy). I am, in fact, home schooled (and I love it). I have a collection of succulents and cacti. I live on 17 acres of property in the middle of nowhere (pretty much) and I am the youngest of 5 kids.
Hopefully I didn’t miss anything.😉

I never made an introduction post for myself here, so I figured I'd take this chance to make one.
My name's Ahmik! I'm 15. There's not that much about myself I can talk about on the internet, but I do like music a lot. My favourite song right now is "Private Life", by Oingo Boingo, (haha) and I've been raising snails for almost two years. I used to keep three Bradybaena similaris a few years ago, but I had to release them after my oldest one died of old age. I wasn't fit to care for them anymore. After getting better, I began keeping snails again April 4th of this year! I now have four, and I'm trying to raise four aspersa hatchlings from egg. They'll go unnamed until they develop shell patterns.

i’m not very well known or anything haha, but here i go!
hi! my name is ellie! i’m 14, and i have one snail and some eggs. i’m new to snails and got my snail marvin january of 2020! he makes me so happy! i’ve actually wanted one since i was 11 haha. keeping pets actually makes me quite anxious, as i’m constantly worrying about “oh are they eating! oh no he’s sleeping too much he must be sick!!” etc... he does make me very happy though, and most of my anxiety is cured just by looking at him ahha. i’m in love with ballet and acting! i’m currently in my schools production of into the woods as the role of little red riding hood! she was actually my dream role so i’m very excited to play her soon. i just went en pointe this year and i love it! it makes me super happy. this forum is my favorite thing! i’m so grateful for all you lovely people to answer my questions and talk! it’s fun to share my love of snails with people, most don’t get it ahha. thanks for reading this! that’s kinda crazy haha

That’s cool! I always thought acting was fun, but I had stage fright for the longest time so I never got involved in it. I’m regretting not overcoming my fears and getting in the church play a few year back, but it to late now, oh well. I love to dance to, but I never had lessons so I look more like a kangaroo with noodles for legs on the dance floor, lol.

I know this is kinda old lol but hi. I have been here for a while, but I never really introduced myself.
You can call me Hammy, I’m 14 years old (I know I’m quite a bit younger then you all). I have loved animals as long as I can remember, and I have had snails since I was 8 years old. I have moved around most my life and I don’t have many friends. I have social anxiety and I am very very hard on myself often. I expect myself to work very hard and know everything. I joined the forum near Christmas time because I found out one of my snails was suffering from deep retraction. He died soon after and left me very sad. I have 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 frog, 20+ water snails, 1 fish, and like over 100 snails 😂. I love animals so much and they are the one thing in this world that makes sense. I’m very happy I found a place where I can talk about snails and not be called weird. I think you all are super cool and have an awesome day!
