The site does seem a bit quiet lately. I'm sure folks would be here more if they could, but sometimes things happen IRL that get in the way.
I have a rule that I don't get on my computer until I've got the most important chores done for the day, so I can't always be here. And if I have to decide between taking care of my snails and getting on my computer, I'm going to use the time for my snails, even if it means missing a day here now and then.

I try to get on as often as possible, but usually only weekends when I am at my partners house as I don't have a PC at home.
I joined this group when it first started, but rarely posted, now I am trying to make the effort more!

Just thought I'd stop by and say Hello! I've been a member for a while but I don't log in very often. I have margies, tigers and one reticulata who all live in a converted fish tank which is now my coffee table

All the other forums I belong to are barely active these days. I think it has to do partly with the holidays we just had, and lousy weather all over the world is probably another factor as well. these kinds of things seem to go in waves, so I suspect activity here will perk up sooner or later.

I have been using this site since I was about 15 and used to come on here every night talk to people. There was a good group and when you posted it was answered in seconds. (not all about snails btw, we weren't THAT sad). We had a laugh.
But I grew up, had a child, got a job, got house to look after, people move on and have new commitments, lives are busy, it's a shame really and I wonder what those people are up to now. Espescially Mike, he was wierd!

I promise I will start posting lots more. The problem is; no-one answers! If we all make an effort at answering other posts rather than just starting new threads, we can get it up and running again.

I'm actually here quite frequently, but I never have anything to contribute because I don't know much about snails. ;(

Everyone is welcome to contribute something meaningful to each thread, and no one should feel obligated to post just for the sake of posting.

I find that posts do get answered, but sometimes it takes a few hours. People on here do still care. I have also find that quite a few forums have been quiet lately, and this does happen from time to time, things change, people come and go, I suspect that we'll have a busy phase in the not too distant future, then things may again go quiet once more. It's a familar pattern on many forums. Also with information/help/research forums such as this one most of the factors of snail-keeping have been covered so people often browse for what they need to to know without having to ask. In many ways it's a sign of a good forum - that the information needed is there to be found, but it does also mean that people don't need to post so much. Research into snails is also something that tends to come and go in bursts of activity followed by lulls. As for those of us who love to just share and chat - well like it's been said, people come and go. Have faith folk, I bet y'all we'll be busy again some time soon , especially as it's entering snail-buying season and people will be wanting to share news on their new additions

Espescially Mike, he was wierd!Haha, that made me laugh ;D It's funny I just randomly checked the site after not logging on for years. I was just thinking lately about how much I used to love snails. It's amazing to think about how different I am now - I cringe when I think about some of the stuff I used to post back then! At the moment I'm studying Philosophy at the University of York. I do miss the group we had; I know Anjie got rid of all her snails a few years ago, I wonder what happened to Arno, Kevin, Val, Sarah, Paul and their snails. I think maybe I'll get a couple of snails after I graduate, but only two!

I still check the site fairly regularly, but dont post so much now. I keep a few snails still, but no where near as many as I did a few years ago.
