Ok Guys, Arno sent me his baby Pometia and margies to look after while he's away - in the package he had sent me 2 'bonus' snails that he had found on the way to work. He did tell me what they were ... but i forgot and i haven't got a clue. Trouble is ...... i was feeding the babies this morning and found Mr Bonus Snail doing this under a piece of lettuce rofl. What do i do? These are natice to Holland but what about here? Do i let them hatch and if i do.... what do i do with babies? Can i release them here if no one wants them. Please someone know what they are, arnos in America and i can't ask him! Anjie,x.

If they hatch you are welcome to some - they are the size of an Aspersa with different shell markings. I'll try and get a clearer picture.

Oh cool. Thanks guys. I don't feel so bad now lol. I'd hate to hatch snails and have nowhere to rehome then. But has anyone got any ideas what they are yet lol.
On thing though - the snail has laid under a piece of lettuce!! As we all know, pieces of lettuce don't stay pieces for long, then they turn to moosh or get eaten! Should i cover the eggs with a scattering of coir?? OMG i'm going to have to move these eggs, they are in with 14 baby margies and loads of baby poms! They are going to get turned over and disturbed...ohhh the stress WMKL.

Yes i said they were those kind, you can also find them in England, but i don't know exactly where. They usually live in places where brambles and nettles grow, roadsides and edges of woodlands.Shouldn't be to hard to find.
The weather is kinda hot.....37 degrees tomorrow....

They are lovely snails Nat - never seen them before. Arno nearly ran them over on his bike on the way home from work, he stuck them in his lunchbox and brought them home lol.
Thanks Arno, glad you're having a good time and its nice and hot.

The adults are fine at the moment - one of them goes all weird every now and then - shrinking back in its shell and falling off the roof of the tank!! Seems fine now though.
I'll take piccies of babies as soon as they are out of the soil.

mayb he was just so unhappy to see his kids. it took all that effort to get em out [the eggs that is, lol] and they hatch into these puney little things. from the parents point of veiw, ofcourse. or maybe he was excpecting his kids to have super powers? rofl
