HI I used to have snails in my nursery class and they had babies but after 5 years they passed away, I was upset and didnt get any more, well one of the babies went into school to one of the teachers and was doing really well one weekend unfortunately on their way back to school there was a car crash and the teacher passed away the snail was found two days later in the wreckage still alive but minus an antennae and coverered in white wounds,The snail went back to the class and the children and new teacher were not really snail friendly and the dried out hibernating snail was gifted to me Now Mr Shoster as we have called him has been with us in his new home/coconut bedding etc for a week he has eaten nearly nothing and although very active and loving cuddles he has this moprning been found VERY retracted and not moving,After 15 minutes being held and cuddled by me he has come out fully but is extremely lethargic and has stretched up the wall of his bed and now seems stuck there I am Veryu worried about him as he has been through so much but I fear it has all been too much for him we tried soakjed bread but to very little avail Hope you can helop Louise and Mr Shooster

Make sure you have a heat mat and the enclosure is humid and damp, once you have that sorted I would try foods like apple, lettuce, cabbage, banana, melon and loads of different fruit and veg I hope this helps

I'm so sorry about the trauma Mr Shoster has endured. It sounds like he is in good hands with you now, though.
That's good advice to make sure the temperature and humidity are at the proper levels, and provide cucumber and sweet potato. Wake the snail and place him right on the food so he can eat right away without having to crawl anywhere.
It's possible he has suffered an internal injury that has slowly been taking its toll. If that is the case, there is really nothing that can be done, nor is there any way to verify such an injury. Just keep an eye on him, give him enough warmth and humidity, and hope for the best. Please let us know how he is doing. *fingers crossed for Mr Shoster*

I posted this in a different thread and hopefully it will help here.
I made up a mix that one of my snails crawled out in the daytime to eat. It was a mix of algae flakes, milk (I used 1% but maybe whole would be better in your case) a tiny bit of half and half and mushrooms. I heated it up a bit to take the cold off and stirred it up.
You could substitute sweet potato for mushrooms; it will mix better and would be easier to eat.

Thank you for all your replies,I am going to try again tomorrow and will bring him home I think as at the minute he is in my classroom and maybe its chillier overnight,I am sure the car ride will not do any more damage. Fingers crossed its just cold and nothing more as We would hate to lose him after he has already been through such a trauma, and he is also our passed friends snail and so is a bit extra special will keep you updated tomorrow xxxxx Isn't he a handsome chappie though!

My one had a nasty fall the other day, luckily he only had a little scratch on his shell but caused him to hide for almost 48 hrs, now he is up and running again, it maybe the shock so he should be back in form soon, Good luck

I can't think of anything to add in the way of advice, but all the very best. Please keep us updated.
