Can anyone help me? I'm looking for some Albino GAL's. I would like both the yellow shells and the white body. Where can I find these?

Hi Sean . There are two types of snail (that I can think of) that comes with a plain golden-orange-yellow shell and a white body. One is a colour variety of Achatina fulica known as Jadatzi. If you see a jadatzi advertised for sale though please be sure that it is the colour that you want, as they do vary. The reason for this is that Jadatzi refers to a particular genetic line of A.fulica (which includes the albino plain shelled), but not all Jadatzis are the same colour. Achatina fulica are generally active and easy to keep. Another type of snail which you may be thinking of is Achatina iredalei. This is a small species, and although not albino they all have creamy-yellow plain shells and creamy bodies. They're a lovely species and unusual in that they do not lay their eggs. The eggs hatch while inside the snail and are then 'born' as baby snails, i.e. the parent snail gives birth to live young. They are, however, not always easy to keep. Some folk have great success with them, others including some experienced snail keepers find them rather tricky to keep. I don't know of any places to go and buy either of these snails, however they are advertised for sale from time to time on forums and on eBay, and internet sites such as Preloved. You are much more likely to find some for sale during the warmer months, as it is much safer for snails to be posted out when the weather is warmer. I hope this helps. It's a case of being patient and waiting for the adverts to appear
