Good Morning, I now have a new address (URL) for the English version of my homepage, which will operate independently from the German version. You can visit it under www.molluscs.at. The old version will remain so far, where it is, only it will not be updated and with time, the pages will be replaced by forwarding links, so I'd suggest you update your links. A good thing: I found many wrong links that led to German pages instead of the English ones they were intended for. This now has been remedied. Kind regards Robert I would also be interested in the following question: What would be better: molluscs.at or mollusca.at? Basically I would like to leave the latter address to a museum or a scientific organisation, like mollusca.de. What do you think?

I've bookmarked your new URL; thanks for the link. I think mollusca.at is good for a scientific website. Mollusca is more of a technical term, while molluscs is more informal.

Hi, Coyote, that's what I thought. There is no institution in Austria like the German Malacological Society in Germany, who would use mollusca.at. I would have imagined perhaps the 1st Vorarlberg Malacological Society, but they use another domain. Why I am thinking about that: When I first began with my homepage by the end of the 90s, I had the domain weichtiere.de. I left it when I went to Austria. Today, weichtiere.at can only be bought at a price of 3000 €! Imagine that. And who would have use for such a domain, but a scientific institution? I am thinking about reserving the domain mollusca.at, too, and then give it to a scientific institution, if so desired, for free. Anyway: molluscs.at is up and running, so everything is fine from that side I also have a new banner, of course: Have a nice evening, Robert

It's possible that a new institution might be created at some point that would want the mollusca.at domain, so I think it's a good idea for it to be kept set aside for that. 3000 € for weichtiere.at! Wow. That rather takes one's breath away.

Hi there, as of today, not only the new website on www.molluscs.at but also the forum at forum.molluscs.at is up and running, the forum at least can be used in numerous languages. The entries will be mostly in German, but everybody is free (if registered) to post in English, French or Italian. I don't speak any other languages, so my answers will be limited to those and German of course. Regards Robert

There were some difficulties with the domain transfer of the German edition, but after some faxes that suddenly went very fast. So yesterday I had to restore the pages in the www.weichtiere.at/english English edition so at least you can follow the old links. But you will automatically be redirected to the newest version. Kind regards Robert
