Can they mate and produce babies together? Thank you for your time.

No, they can´t . There is just a few species that can do that (e.g. A. albopicta x A. reticulata). Specis, that can interbreed, are always similar, especially in growth and reproduction. As you know, archachatinas lay just a few really big eggs, achatinas usually have approximately 100 small ones, so . If there is anyone who can explain it better...

Thank you! Finally an answer. I thought so too, but I wasn't sure. Exactly what species, except A. albopicta and A. reticulata, can interbreed? Is there a list somewhere maybe? Thank's again!

You´re welcome, SojMad But no, I haven´t seen a list... As heydihoo says, you must be careful with subspecies, e.g. all subspecies of a. fulica can interbreed, as far as I know, then as I said a. albopicta with a. reticulata, also margies (maybe not all of those, some subspecies are much bigger than some others.... ), kinds o achatina achatina (I have heard of a.a. var achatina x a.a. var elegans and of a.a. var a. x a.a. var monochromatica) and subspecies of a. immaculata as well... I do not remember more. Those for interbreeding from that hatchlings can live. There is one more thing I want to tell you: at our czech site (achatina.cz) there has been told the same story by many breeders: do not keep a. iredalei together with a. fulica hamillei albino body (how is that name in Englist? We use this term...). They can mate and usually iredalei dies then. (Don´t ask me, why. I guess because of enormous amount of eggs, should be?)

Thank you very much! I'm not surprised that subspecies can produce eggs together. ^^ But it sounds awful about the iredaleis x A. fulica hamillei albino - I have never heard of that before. Poor iredaleis. Fortunately I don't mix different species, I was just curious - but it's good to know.
