Hi, I'm trying to decide what tank to keep my tigers in once they are adults... I'm thinking about maybe a 50lrt plastic storage tub? Do you think that'd be ok for 2 adults? ( ideally I'd like 4 but don't think I'd be able to get a tank big enough.. ) Or if not, what would you suggest I should get? Obviously I want to try and keep it as cheap as possible... And I know you've got a calculator for this kind of thing, but I'd much rather have some suggestions and see what other people have done! Any advice would be much appreciated as I want to do the best I can for my snaillies!! ;D Thank you!

The best tank largly depends on how you plan to heat it. It can be hard to heat plastic tanks with heatmats but I have known people who have v ery warm houses, day and night even in winter and have thriving breeding Tigers without the need of mats. If it were my house, which is largly unheated and has temperature drops during the night in winter Tigers would not survive without heat mats. Glass tanks tend to work best with heatmats, and ou may be lucky enough to pick up a free one on your local FreeCyle site. If not then I suggest trying as many second-hand sites (pre-loved etc) as you can.
I'm not saying that you can't use an external heat source such as a mat with plastic tanks, it's just that many people find them less effective, but I hope someone can give you some tips on this if you go down the platic tank route.

Thanks for the reply! I'm going to heat the tank by heat mat. And for that reason I would like a glass tank, however the maximum size glass tank I'd able to get would be 24" x 12" x 12" , or possibly a 36"x12"x12" tank, as i dont have anywhere to keep anything larger than that, but I don't think that's big enough?? Whereas if I go with the plastic storage tub, I could have a large 50lrt tank (or bigger even if needed??) and be able to keep it on top of my fish tank and as it'd be lighter and less breakable than glass, I'd be able to get it down regularly... It all depends on the size needed really..
