My hamster called stacy died today I found her lifeless body when I came back from school she turned 2 a few weeks ago but today she passed away she was still alive in the morning but shes really old and she was getting Ill I had to warm her up a couple of times to help her get warm because she kept on getting cold and stiff and wouldn't move but once I warmed her up she was fine and started move around as normal It was kind of scary couse I thought she was gunna die but I had a shock when she warmed up and was running around like happy little hamster do u think it's normal that she got really cold and stiff? Thanks

I said a little prayer after I buried her and brought a little bunch of flowers at her little grave also made a cross and I put it there too so I'll know where I buried her

Sounds like she has a lovely caring owner. many believe pets meet you in the after-life. If so, I'm sure she'll be happy to see you again one day, even if it is many years or decades from now.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't know anything about hamsters, so I can't answer your question. It's always so sad when a pet dies, especially the little ones, but she will always have a place in your heart.
Rest in peace, Stacy.

I'm not sure about all hamster species but Syrian hamsters can and do hibernate if the temperature drops, some are more prone to it than others and it can be pretty scary. Two years old is a good age though for a hamster to pass away. I'm sorry for your loss, we lost our beautiful Syrian 'Hammond' early on in the year and the grief was very real for us. Like you we buried ours - Hammond rests in a large plant pot with a small maple tree to mark her grave. It does get easier. You never forget them, at times you may still miss your Stacy, but it does get easier. Hugs to you x

Sounds like a species known as Winter White. I hope you will soon feel ok enough to get another hamster. You can never replace Stacey but I hope another will fill the hamster-shaped gap that's left behind. Thank you too for your kind words about Hammond, Greta hugs xx
