Sorry I Haven't been on for a Week or two, I'm back with the guide to the ideal snail Habitat (For my Snails Anyway) Depending on the Size and Quantity of the snail(s) for the Measurements of their tank, I Have 3 Small Snail they have a 30cm x 40cm Tank, I Have a Glass tank but I'd Prefer a Plastic one. If you have a plastic "tank" Drill Holes in the sides be sure to sand them down so that No little Snail injures happen. Step 1. Locate,Buy,Make a Suitable Tank. Step 2. Look for Splinters and Such then get rid of them. Step 3. Use a Suitable Moss to Cover the Bottom of the Tank. Step 4. If You'd like you can Use SAFE Plants in there or Plastic (RISK) Step 5. Make Sure to have a "Hiding Place" somewhere in your tank (Please let me know if you want info on this or anything else) Step 6. If you want put Dirt under the Moss for Burrowing Snails. Anything I Missed? Please Post your "Perfect Tank" Pictures of your Habitat. Liked this Tut? Want More? Post a Reply Saying that

Hi,
My terrariums for the adult snails cepaeas are actually large beanie baby stuffed animal containers plastic.
I believe there are even larger beanie baby containers as well.
So I put Gravel for the first bottom layer inside for drianage.
Then earth from their origional habitat for the second layer.
Then some patches of moss.
leaf and wood chips and tiny sticks also from their origional habitat.
Then some large white clam shells pushed part way in the dirt, they love those top and underneath to hide out.
Also larger sticks set up like a little jungle gym they crawl along and up and down on and stretch over to get to the next stick and hide Under.
plants and their food dish, and always hostas.
The hostas grow in them really well I actually had one hosta grow up and push open the terrarium lid, luckily no one escaped, now I have a small but heay rock placed on the lid so this won't occur again.
Flat smooth rocks they love those and sometimes hang out together on them.
I want them to have an environment they can keep active in.
Before winter I go out and collect and store what I need to have on hand for them through the winter.
Beanie baby containers come in an assortment of sizes. They may have beanie baby containers for the really large Beanies called Beanie Bubbies. I am not sure where you would get them as I already had mine, gifts of beanie babies in these clear plastic containers from an old freind.
I have a smaller one for my oxychilus alliarus he has a different habitat wood chips/dead leaves, bark and thick sticks he loves the bark and thick sticks and as coyote helped me out a layer of leaves he can crawl under which has made him very happy.
With another one the size of oxy blues, with the help of axoloa, coyote and foghog I fashioned a baby tank that worked out great.
So everyone seems pretty happy and active in their jungle gyms.
