Thank you axola for confirming that.
i bought a pair of these snails when they were tiny and i asked here on this forum what they were. I was told then they were albino Achatina Reticulata.
my pair have bred and i listed them for sale with pictures. i have just recieved an email from a snail enthousiast telling me that they are not Achatina Reticulata.. she believes they are Albino Fulica..
i was panicing then..... phew haha... thanks

Hi its no problem at all, im glad to be of help Sounds to me that whoever this snail enthousiast is, their trying to get you to lower your price maybe. Either that or they know nothing what so ever about snails... your snail dosent have anything what so ever in common with fulica, even a Reticulata shells shape is different to Fulica (slightly). Shes a real beauty you have their how old is she??

Many thanks. she arrived with me 14 months ago and was a few weeks old..so coming up to 15 months - ish...
surprisingly, my other one layed eggs as well... they are sweet.... and neither seem any worse off for it... fingers crossed they are amongst the lucky ones who survive a breeding frenzie...

Hi everyone, just an update... i emailed the lady and explained this is deffinately albino Achatina Reticulata. she just replied saying it is deffinately an albino fulica not a reticulata. she said a reticulata has a smooth shell texture and fulica are like mine, she said i am completely mistaken......

Lol well she seems stubborn well it is deffinatly an albino retic she's the one who's completely mistaken albino fulica shell is different cuz it doesn't have any spots they are just stripped so it's a retic no doubt!!!! And she is gorgeous can't wait till my will reach this size its gunna so exciting

and so the debate goes on, i once again politely explained the snail pictured is a Achatina Reticulata... the lady said she has dealt with snails for many years and it is albino fulica....then went on to say i should check the species again perhaps via the petsnails.proboard forum..... i am half tempted to just email the link to this thread to her....

I say email her the thread. I'm trying to convince hubby to let me bid, but my "But it's so sweet and needs a home" arguement isn't working so far. May still bid though, it's not like he'll notice if I've got another one!

hello, i have just looked on ebay at your advert, and compared it to some images i found on google, the retics i have found images of have much darker shells and dont have the 6 inch shells which you say yours have. do retics grow that big?

I take your point, mejulie, about this thread. But I tend to agree with the others who've said that the person in question does seem to be a bit too stubborn in this case.

There is nothing personal at all... i did not post her the link, however i am sure she will have found it herself considering i told her i was a member here.. personally i would not have had a clue what species my snails are, so i am thankful for any input and advice...
