Getting chicks in spring Any suggestions on a good brooder or anything they need in particular?

Hi Rosie, CHICKS! That's great. When I was young we had chickens and my father put our chicken's eggs in an incubator in the basement and they had to be marked with a dot of a black marker and turned every so often until it was time for them to hatch and we would actually get to watch them pecking out of their eggs, they were so tiny and cute, he would keep them in a closed in area in our basement with heat lamps above to keep them warm and add warm water to their mash (some sort of Chick food from the store). They would all be downstairs peeping all the time it was great. After a certain amount of time he would put them in the coop with the chickens. It was great. You will have such a great time with them. He did this with our duck eggs as well and ducklings will imprint the first living thing they see and adapt to and follow that living thing around whether it be a duck or dog or person. I live in Canada so I don't know a good brooder there, but it will be good fun, just keep them warm and fed and lots of fresh water.
