hi there i know this is the wrong section to post this but i got a message saying 'You can only reply to threads here - new ones cannot be created. Instead use other boards such as general and problems and the moderators will move the threads here during housekeeping.' so here it is. i got given a snail (in exchanged for some sea monkeys) from my friend and i think it's an giant east African land snail but I want to make sure. =) he started out very stripy and light but now as he's got bigger he's get so much darker! when i first got him: this is him now: and a close up ^_^ cus he's a cuteie so what do you think? easy African?

Hiya and welcome Beautiful healthy-looking snail you have there. It looks like an Achatina fulica, which is one type of Giant African Land Snail (or GALS). GALS is really just a general name for several species. Often people are talking about the A.fulica when they say 'GALS' but not always, they may be referring to many species, so it can get a bit confusing . Nice name by the way
