hey - this just about how old and big snails are when they usually breed. All achatina and archachatina usually mate when they around 9 months old at the earliest, and should be 9 or 10 cm.

Is that right? I was going to post a message asking how old Tigers usually are when they decide they want to mate.
My baby from Arno is around 8-9 months old (is that right Sophie? can you remember when we got them?) but is only 5cm - but on a growth spurt at the moment!!. Would his size rather than age be a bigger factor in when he decides to mate?

Apparently tigers only breed from about 2 years old onwards. In the wild this tends to be in their 3rd year but in captivity that is probably reduced a lot, I would imagine anything from a year onwards is possible. Just don't be disappointed if it takes longer.
I think Tigers are much more related to Archachatina that other Achatina snails are. They have the V shape, the heat requirements, the slow growth and the tricky breeding situation.
