It's been a while since I posted on petsnails, so I'm delighted to bring happy tidings of good news (and Christmas!) The two albino retics I bought from fran are due their first clutch of eggs in the next week or two. They mated around 5 days before this and so far Brooklyn has built up quite the egg clutch, which she seems very proud of. The one worry I do have, is that the egg sac is carrying such a large amount that it's nearly appearing outside of the air hole, which has been moving a considerable amount than the normal, is this anything to be genuinely worried about? Also, I will post any big updates on here, hopefully the next one will be eggs! ^^" The picture I've uploaded is Brooklyn with a satisfying number of eggs, she prides herself on showing everyone her little bundle :') (sorry for crappy picture quality) Enjoy (: Attachments:

Proud to announce the arrival of eggs in my tank! I came home to a burrowed Brooklyn, this is the outcome (: Also, why do snails always wait until no one is watching until they do something? Attachments:

Thank you! I don't know what made mine lay so many for their first brood, but I've counted them and I have around 195-200! I found they prefer their tank to be really humid, so I've been spraying every day at the moment. They also bathe quite a lot, so i keep a rock pool in with them. They must be just over a year old by now, Fran sent them to me November of last year and they were around 3 months old, so diddy! To be fair I think they must have a strong blood line, they didn't need any encouragement to lay at all. Hope this helped (: anything specific, throw it at me

My retcis refused to lay until I raised the heat (to 27 day/23 night).

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been online, things haven't exactly been great here /:
On a brighter note, I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year (: I have a few updates that I thought could wait until I had good news, which is this.
Unfortunately this particular brood of eggs were not fertile and therefore did not hatch ): *sad face* buh, a few weeks after Christmas my snails thought they'd surprise me with a belated Christmas present and laid again! So so happy :') Sunday last week they began emerging from the soil and now I have roughly 150 albino bodied Reticulata to obsess over >.<
I will (of course) be posting pictures, but they're so tiny my camera doesn't pick them up very well, sooo watch this space C:

That was a big batch of bad eggs. Lots of wasted calcium for the snaily. Glad to hear the next one was good and brought you babies! Congrats!

Thank you (: yah it was, she did everything perfectly for her first time too, such a shame ): On the other hand, she demolished an entire cuttlefish shortly after and she's fit as a fiddle now (:

I will be following this with a post on my classified thread buh, I found out last night that Brooklyn laid about 200+ eggs at the back of the tank, so there's definitely an abundance of snailies in my life right now (:
Anybody who's interested in purchasing can check out my other thread, I currently own 80 hatchlings, although I may also sell the eggs.
Happy Snailing (:
